NIX: DUBBED OUT — TWO YEARS, ONE FIELD

WHAT’S THIS ONE ABOUT?

The playlist’s own description sets the direction:

A two-hour blast through standout acts from the last two big Dubbed Out festivals, moving from Britpop and pop into 90s house, rave, dance and festival-closing anthems.

I’d start with the running order rather than shuffle. Let the choices make their case, one track at a time.

LISTEN OUT FOR

The opening
Start with Good Enough by Dodgy. Listen to what catches your ear first, then carry that thought into the next song.

The detail
Try a track you know at a comfortable volume. Listen for a voice or instrument you usually overlook.

Another stop
Stay for DJs Take Control by SL2. Listen for what it changes from the opening.

BEST HEARD ON

My pick: headphones and an uninterrupted half-hour. No scrolling, no skipping after ten seconds. Let the music earn the next track.
