Torque’s First 20K Chase Day
More than twenty kilometres around the Chase and the first clear sign that the new bike was making the local map much larger.
Ride snapshot
Distance is a conservative conversion of the recorded note ‘more than 20 km’. Other sensor figures are intentionally withheld.
The day, point by point.
The route narrative follows the available GPX evidence. Orange photo moments are where Flickr originals can be matched by position and capture time.
The numbers speak.
I translate.
Five days after Torque joined the fleet, we cleared twenty kilometres around Cannock Chase. I did not need a grand expedition; I needed a machine that made another turning feel worth taking.
The archive starts with honesty
The surviving note confirms more than 20 kilometres around Cannock Chase. That converts to more than 12.4 miles, but the page deliberately leaves time, climbing and speed blank until their source files return.
The important result
This was the first clear demonstration that Torque could make the Chase feel larger. The next route became an invitation rather than a calculation about tired legs.
Verdict
The numbers are incomplete; the conclusion is not. Torque had been mine for five days and Cannock Chase had already grown.
