Try −0.3 to −0.7 EV for a bright sky, then judge the actual scene. It’s an experiment, not a commandment carved into a tripod.
🔬 Explain technically
EV is a logarithmic measure of exposure. Bright pixels that exceed the sensor/processing range clip to featureless white; reducing exposure can retain highlight data for later adjustment.

Begin at 1×, get lower, check reflections and leave breathing room. Then hold the van the same size while stepping back through 2× and 4×: the background appears larger and closer.

Shoot the whole bike at 1× or 2×, then wheel, mud, suspension, pedals and rider. Several deliberate clips beat one wandering recording.

Move your feet first
