My Royal Navy and marine engineering background left me with a lasting need to understand how things work. Transport and HGV driving added another perspective: planning the route, respecting the machinery and noticing the world through the windscreen.
I take Vanilla, my campervan, down roads worth remembering. I ride Torque into the trails and send flying cameras up for a different view. Photography gives me a reason to stop; curiosity usually supplies the next detour.
I write about the journeys, the experiments and the things I learn along the way. Sometimes there are spreadsheets. Often there is tea. Community, shared adventures and a good laugh matter as much as the destination.
